Changing from codependency to independence also means you may have to give up some false beliefs that you hold on to.

Taking Charge of Your Life

Astrology is letting someone else tell you that your life is determined by the alignment of the stars and there is a preset destination that you don't have anything to do with creating. It puts another person besides your Higher Power in charge of your life. It is also costly and can lead you into wrong directions. Tarot cards do the same thing. You ask someone else to read some shuffled cards and tell you the future of your life. This takes away all your personal control and leaves you at the expense of whatever comes your way. There is evil and danger in the world.

People are out for their own good without regard for others. There is nothing wrong with wanting your own good but it must not include violating the boundaries or rights of others. Limits and boundaries put you in control not the stars or a deck of cards.

People who have been deeply wounded, especially as children are more susceptible to get involved in cult activity. Some churches actually have cult groups. When you find a group that tells you what to think and all people are to think that way, it is called brainwashing. It takes away your will and also gives the leaders of the groups money for their personal gain as they take yours.

The appeal to these is they talk about love being the answer to all life problems and tell you they love you. It is impossible to love someone you don't know. Love does not mean a loss of identity, it means you have boundaries and let the other person have their own skills and independence as you express yours. It is a commitment to one person or your family and not a world reaching thing. World peace taught as the goal is not reality based. Look at the news and see what really goes on.

Do you want to go to groups where they love murderers and rapists and child abusers? Some teach their is no sin and if you love someone even a rapist that they will change and be loving. This is dangerous and contrary to psychological facts. It leaves you wide open as a victim of crime. Some of them say they follow Jesus. He also taught never hurt and child and hated injustice and evil.

These cults are like the wolf wearing sheep clothing. What they advertise sounds accepting and loving but it is uniform mind control and loss of the individuality. Repeating there statements where everyone does the same is not like a valid affirmation. Affirmations deal with yourself, talents, abilities and weaknesses you want to overcome.

Learn to question authority figures and make sure you agree with what they are saying before you join any group. Get used to running your own life. Teaching love is the answer takes away all personal responsibility for violence. Raising your children by astrology means you are not treating them like the independent unique child God made them.

If you are involved in any of these methods it is strongly suggested you get out and start making your own decisions and take self responsibility for what you do and hold others responsibility. The other way does not lead to peace but total lawlessness and chaos. If you are working on ending codependency only join churches, AA, and clubs where they treat people as individuals. The Bible can be a guide but it has many translations so make sure if you read it or join a church you agree with what they are saying.

God holds man responsible and it means all people are held accountable. Our constitution also protects the rights of individuals to live in a democracy not to be ruled. The only way out is to quit going and start reading material based on psychological principles and independent living to undo the dependency you put on the group or philosophy itself. If you are in a cult you can read information about it on the Internet. It should give you the pros and cons of the cult and the damage they create. Remember your first priority is to be an individual.
